How you can help


The new Federal Labor Government has made a committment

  • to sign the Kyoto Protocol and reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions to 60% below 2000 levels by 2050
  • to work cooperatively with State and Local /Governments to deliver vital infrastructure to tackle Australia's future challenges and set up Infrastructure Australia to identify infrastructure priorities
  • to make obesity a national health priority

The national cycling organisations are working with the new Federal Ministers in the relevant portfolios to gain more federal support for cycling.

Our efforts in Canberra will be aided significantly by a strong show of support from a wide range of voices. And that's where you can help.

  • Contact your local Federal Member of Parliament to seek their support for increased government investment
  • Email the newspaper editors
  • Submit a potential project which could be funded under the Healthy and Active Transport Program (HEAT)
  • Click here for a tool we have developed to assist you in submitting potential projects which could be funded under such a program
